Stars of Wellington 20 January

Welcome to Stars of Wellington, where each week we celebrate the experiences and achievements of our students as they compete in a variety of different sports and activities in and outside of School.

We start with Equestrian where we are delighted to share with you the news of Proud and Preme, siblings here at Wellington who last weekend competed in the Phoenix Competition 2023. Proud entered five different events overall, placing first in two (Combine and Jumping – 50cm), and second, third and fourth in her other three events. Preme entered four events where she collected a third place in the Jumping (50cm), two fourth places and a fifth place. What a busy and successful competition for both Proud and Preme – congratulations to the both of you!

In Golf, Jedi competed at the GAD Thailand Championship at the Seapine Course, finishing second runner up and overall low gross award (For the person who hit the ball closest to the hole for par 3). Excellent work, Jedi, well done!

In Tennis, Tuang continues to perform strongly with a third place at the under-10 SMILE Tennis 10s Tournament at the SMILE Sports Club Phuket. Her LTAT tennis-10s ranking is now #3 in Thailand. Great work, Tuang, well played!

In academics, we are happy to report on Mickey’s achievements at the SEAMO competition where he received a Bronze Award. Congratulations Mickey, and the Wellington Mathematics Department will be especially pleased to hear about this recent success!

Also in academics, we are very proud to share the news of Allie winning the Diamond Award in the GELOSEA Global English Language Olympiad of Southeast Asia competition. Congratulations to you, Allie!

And finally, in Music, Jay was awarded the Gold Medal in Category C (under 15 years) at the 8th MCGP Piano Competition, held by College of Music, Mahidol University. What a brilliant result Jay, congratulations!
