Stars of Wellington: 21 Feb 2025 

Welcome to Stars of Wellington! This is the final issue before the half-term break and it's filled with a variety of sports and music highlights celebrating the talents of our amazing students. Let’s take a moment to celebrate each of their achievements. We look forward to sharing more with you when we’re back!

Music

We are thrilled to announce that Tara (Year 5) has won the Gold Prize in the Singing Category (Broadway 8-10 years old) at the Thailand Championships of Performing Arts 2025! 🥇 In addition to the prestigious award, Tara also received a 20,000 Baht scholarship and will represent Thailand at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Long Beach, California, USA, in July 2025. Well done, Tara and best of luck at the international competition! 


Vivi’s Golf Victory! Last Saturday, Vivi (Year 3) competed in a golf tournament at Water Mill Golf Course. Despite the scorching heat and slippery greens, she stayed focused and played her best. In the end, she overcame the challenges and claimed the winner’s title! Congratulations, Vivi—well done! 


Let’s Cheers for Our Tennis Champ! 

A huge congratulations to Emily (Year 6) who teamed up with a player from Malaysia to win the doubles championship title at the Thanyapura Youth Open 2025! After a hard-fought final, Emily’s skill and determination led her to victory. Cheers to this fantastic achievement, Emily!


We are thrilled to share Alice’s (Year 6) outstanding accomplishments from the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) exams earlier this year. Alice was awarded “DISTINCTION” in both Grade 6 Piano Performance and Grade 5 Violin Performance with an impressive score of 141/150 in Piano Performance! She also excelled in Grade 5 Music Theory. 

A big thank you to Miss Mod, Miss Gwang, and Mr. Ben Findlay for their continued support in nurturing Alice’s musical talents. We are incredibly proud of her as we watch Alice’s skills grow and flourish!

 


Last weekend, Porsche (Year 5) competed in the Amino Vital Marlin Mayhem 2025 at St. Andrew International School Bangkok in the Boy 10-Year-Old Short Course. Porsche did an outstanding job, securing 2nd place overall with 1 Gold Medal and 4 Silver Medals! 

His impressive results included: 

  • Gold in Free 50m (31.39 sec, PB) 
  • Silver in IM 100m (1:18.76 min, PB) 
  • Silver in Fly 50m (35.97 sec, PB) 
  • Silver in Back 50m (36.67 sec, PB) 
  • Silver in Free 100m (1:08.94 min, PB) 

A huge congratulations to Porsche on his remarkable achievement!
