Music Stars this week — Eiffel from Year 7 has achieved an incredible milestone by winning First Prize in the Piano Solo Grade 6 Category at the CMTG International Piano Competition 2024! The event took place at YAMAHA Music Hall from September 14-16, 2024. This fantastic achievement showcases Eiffel's hard work and passion for music. Keep shining!

Congratulations to Ava from Year 7 on her outstanding achievements in recent piano competitions: 

- Taipei Excellence International Piano and Violin Competition Thailand: Gold Medal and First Prize with the highest score in her category (Age 11-12) 
- CMTG International Piano Competition 2024: First Prize (Age 11-12) 
- Bach International Music Competition 2024 (Online): First Prize and the Bach Excellent Interpretation Special Award (Age 11-13) 
These accomplishments highlight Ava’s remarkable talent. Her future in music looks very promising! 

We are thrilled to announce that Mochi from Year 4 has won an Excellence Award in the Vocal Solo Children’s Class at the Hong Kong Music Talent Performance Award 2024! Mochi is a remarkable young talent with a bright future ahead, and we couldn't be prouder! A big shout-out to Kru Pui, our amazing extra vocal teacher at Wellington Bangkok, for all the support!

We are excited to share that Alice from Year 6 has won 2nd Prize in the Violin Category Class C at the 2nd String Instrument East Asia Competition 2024, supported by Muzikoznaika Russia! Congratulations, Alice, on this fantastic achievement!

We are thrilled to announce that NJ from Year 10 has been honoured with the Outstanding Youth Award in recognition of his dedication and contributions to society on 15 September 2024! This prestigious award reflects NJ’s commitment and hard work, and he truly deserves this recognition. 

 Prior to this honor, NJ has participated in numerous competitions and achieved remarkable results: 

- February 2023: Asia Pacific Preliminary, Piano Solo - Distinction Award 
- July 2023: Asia Pacific Final @ Beijing, Piano Solo - 3rd Place 
- May 2023: IYMMC Preliminary, Piano Solo - 2nd Place 
- August 2023: IYMMC Final @ Hong Kong, Piano Solo - 3rd Place 
- September 2023: Shanghai International Preliminary, Piano Solo - Distinction Award 

 We are so proud of NJ’s achievements and look forward to his continued success! 

📚Academic

On Academic Excellence this week, we are pleased to share that Jerry in Year 11 and Ava in Year 8 have excelled in the Australian Mathematics Competition. 

Ava received a Gold Medal and High Distinction, ranking 3rd in Thailand among 166 students in the Upper Primary Class. Jerry earned a Silver Medal with Distinction, placing in the top 10% out of 312 students, ranking 5th in his year group and 20th overall in the Intermediate Level. 

These accomplishments highlight the outstanding quality of math education at WCIB, particularly given the strong competition from leading schools in Thailand. Thank you to the senior school Math department for your dedication and support!

🏎️Sport

Congratulations to the WCIB boys for their great result in the True Vision - Toyota Junior Kart Championship 2024! Last weekend, Porsche, Ayrton, Mighty in Year 5, and Alain in Year 4 participated in the second race at Bira Kart International Circuit Pattaya. 

Competing against 20 go-karts, with 8 racers for ages 10-11 and 12 racers for ages 8-9, they showcased their skills and techniques, all crossing the finish line with the checkered flag. A job well done by everyone!
