We're kicking off the wrap-up of this term with some exciting news from our Stars of Wellington! 


Academic 

First up, let's celebrate the outstanding achievements of Ava (Year 7) and Jerry (Year 10) in various academic competitions: 

Ava has excelled with: 

3 Gold medals for UKMT Junior & Senior 2024, Kangaroo Math 2024 

3 Silver medals for Math IMEC, SIMSO 2024, and English Jeo 2024 

2 Bronze medals for SASMO & HKMT 2024 

Meanwhile, Jerry has showcased his academic prowess with: 

4 Gold medals for UKMT Senior 2024, IMEC, SIMSO 2024, and Kangaroo Math 2024 

1 Silver medal for Biology Challenge 2024 

2 Bronze medals for SASMO & HKIMO Math 2024 

Congratulations to both Jerry and Ava for their remarkable achievements in these prestigious competitions!

Sport 

Moving on to the Sports section. Let's kick off with a big shoutout to Jackfruit (Year 8), who totally rocked the LTAT Asian 14&Under C2 (1) 2024 tennis tournament! Jackfruit snagged 3rd place in the boys' singles (under 14) category, competing against 45 players from Hong Kong, China, Japan, and Thailand. We're all super proud of him! Despite some tough competition in the semifinals, Jackfruit's performance was truly impressive! 

Way to go, Jackfruit! And a big thanks to Coach Jay for your dedication in guiding Jackfruit towards success!

We're on a roll with our Tennis Stars this term! Next up, let's give a huge round of applause to Tuang (Year 6) who clinched 3rd place in the girls' singles under 12 category at the "Khonkaen Srichaphan Junior Tennis Friendship 2024" tournament! Despite competing against older opponents this year, Tuang's determination and skill shone through, earning her this impressive achievement. Great job, Tuang!

Celebrating another tennis triumph! Emily (Year 5) secured third place in the JNT Tennis Junior Championship in Bangkok over the weekend. Her impressive performance, marked by a comeback victory in the quarterfinals and a thrilling semifinal match, demonstrates her skill and resilience on the court. Congratulations, Emily on this well-deserved achievement!

Music & Art 

In Music, we proudly present our star musician, Alice (Year 5), who recently attended the award ceremony for the Thailand International Classical Music Competition 2024. Alice achieved the prestigious Gold Prize Award in both piano and violin categories for Category Children Class B Age Under 12. 

Adding to her impressive achievements, we have exciting news from Vienna! Alice has been invited to perform a violin duet concert with Professor Dr. Konstantin Weitz during the upcoming summer break in Austria.

Recently, in the Arts corner, Home (Year 7) achieved a Gold Award in the 54th International Children's Art Competition by Pentel. His winning art piece is truly beautiful and showcases his inspiring creativity! Home's talent is remarkable, and we look forward to seeing more of his artistic journey unfold. We see a future Van Gogh in the making!
