Awards Whole School

It’s wonderful to have our students back in School for what will be another action-packed term here at Wellington. We have been delighted to read all the fantastic stories of student achievement over the Christmas break, and we share a selection of those with you today.

We start with Golf, and Nava (Junior School) attended a special ceremony hosted by General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand, at the National Parliament, where she received an award for bringing outstanding reputation and achievement in sport to Thailand. On this unique occasion, children from all over Thailand are nominated, with Nava being the only golfer to win this award. A truly amazing experience for Nava and her family. Well done, Nava, we are all incredibly proud of you!

In tennis, Emily battled hard to win another Thailand LTA ranking event – this time at Greta Resort & Sport Club Pattaya, winning an exciting final (3-4,4-3,4-3) and showing great resilience to come through for a memorable victory. Emily is now ranked #7 in Thailand for her age group. Great work, Emily!

Moving on from sport, we bring you news of Ingwa’s musical achievements at the Vivaldi International Music Competition where she achieved first prize in the Junior category (age 8-10) for piano and was also awarded a special prize for ‘Excellent Musicianship’, appointed by the judges. What a brilliant achievement Ingwa, well done!

Also in music, we are delighted to celebrate the achievement of Ava Lou (Junior School) who finished second in the 11th Hong Kong Golden Bauhinia International Youth Piano Competition 2022. Super work, Ava Lou! congratulations!

And finally, in academics, we are happy to report that J-Jean won the Marshall Cavendish Global Writing Competition for Thailand. Congratulations, J-Jean, we are all delighted for you – especially your teachers in the English Department!

Thank you to all of you who sent in stories this week, we read every one and share these successes with the relevant teachers and coaches here at Wellington. We look forward to sharing some more achievements next week!
