Teachers at Wellington College support our students to be inspired by everything they do, both inside and outside of the classroom, so they can develop into happy, broad-minded and successful people, engaged in how they can shape the world around them. We believe that the inspirational teacher is the one who changes your life; the one who is excited every day in sharing their own passion for their subject, their own joy in exploration, discussion, creation, and invention. And that’s a wonderful model for students.
It is always inspiring, therefore, when we hear from parents, stories such as that of Porsche (Year 2), and his newly discovered passion for swimming. This weekend Porsche competed in his very first swimming competition, setting personal bests in both 25M freestyle and 25M breaststroke. Congratulations Porsche!
Porsche’s father, commented about the role Wellington has played in his son’s development:
I am truly grateful to all the swimming coaches at Wellington for inspiring Porsche, not only to take up swimming, but to want to train more, and to continue to develop and achieve in swimming competitions. I am very happy to see that my son has a new goal in his life.
This is always great to hear, and we look forward to learning more about Porsche’s achievements in the pool in the future.
