Starting this week's stars of Wellington with academic excellence, as we're shining a spotlight on Latte (Year 7). He's demonstrated exceptional skill in mathematics competitions securing: 

  • Gold award in the American Mathematics Olympiad [AMO] 2023/2024 
  • Silver award in the American Mathematics Competition (AMC8) 2023/2024 

We are proud of you, Latte! Keep up the fantastic work! 

 

 

Congratulations to Mickey in Year 9 for winning the bronze award in the American Mathematics Olympiad 2024! Well done on your outstanding achievement, Mickey! Your dedication to mathematics excellence is inspiring! 
 

 

 

Sport

 

In our Sports Corner, we're delighted to spotlight the accomplishments of Vda (Year 3) at the JGS Central #1 [CO-TJGA] point race to Australia and Singapore Junior Masters 2024, held at the Black Mountain Golf Club. Vda showcased remarkable talent, securing the 1st runner-up position in the Class-EG. Congratulations to Vda for her outstanding achievement and dedication on the course! 

 

 

Cheers to VJ (Year 8) for another outstanding golf performance! VJ clinched victory in Class-CB and snagged the Closest to the Pin award at the ISGT International Schools' Golf Tour 2023/2024, at the Amata Spring Country Club on 30 April 2024. With an impressive 41 and 43 totaling 84, Well done, VJ! 

 

 

Ice breaking news! Congratulations to Indy (Year 3) for his selection to represent the Young Ducks Ice Hockey Team at the Mega Hongkong 5s 2024 Tournament, the largest ice hockey tournament in Asia. Held between 20 and 27 April 2024 at Mega Ice Rink, Mega Box, Hong Kong, this tournament showcased Prin's exceptional talent. Prin brought home the 1st Runner-Up title in Division U9 and ranked 14th out of 96 players in the tournament. Well done, Prin on your remarkable achievements!

 

 

Music

 

In the Music Corner, we're thrilled to congratulate Garm (Year 8) for his participation in the RSL Thailand Drum Competition 2024, competing in the Grade exam category, Grade 8. Garm's exceptional performance secured him the Gold Award Winner title. Well done, Garm! 

 

 

Let's give a huge round of applause to Theelyn (Year 4) for securing the 1st Prize in the Vivaldi International Music Competition in the Junior category (Age 8-10) for Vocal! Your talent shines brightly and we're incredibly proud of your remarkable achievement! 

 

 

Another triumph in the music corner! Over the weekend, Alice (Year 5) wowed the audience at the YAMAHA Thailand International Music Competition 2024 (YTIMC2024), held at the Music Auditorium, College of Music Mahidol University. With her exceptional performance, she secured the Silver Prize Award in Category Class B - Premiere Division for strings. Way to go, Alice! Keep shining!
