Stars of Wellington 25 November 2022
We begin with music this week. We are delighted to tell you about Korya in Year 2 who has been working very hard and dedicating lots of time to learning the piano. Her efforts are coming to fruition with an excellent performance in the recent Vienna Music Competition where she received a bronze medal. Korya has also passed her ABRSM Grade 1 with a Merit. What great progress Korya, we are incredibly proud of you!
Next, we move on to figure skating, where Ferrari (Year 4) triumphed at the recent Bangkok Figure Skates Classic 2022 program, winning a gold medal in freestyle, solo compulsories and a silver in the artistic program. Ferrari’s efforts have also resulted in her being selected as a representative of District 10 for figure skating in the upcoming National Youth Games. Congratulations Ferrari on your performances and your selection!
In academics, congratulations go to J Jean, achieving a bronze award at the International Mathematics Olympiad Competition of Southeast Asia (IMOCSEA) in September. J-Jean also took part in the World Changers Cup here at Wellington College Bangkok in October reaching the semi-finals. Well done, J-Jean!
In tennis, Emily continues to shine on the tennis circuit with a well-earned third place finish in a recent LTAT event. In hot and humid conditions, she showed great determination, resilience and fighting spirit. After this ranking event, Emily will be #12 in Thailand for her age-group. Amazing work, Emily! We hope that you continue to climb the rankings!
