Stars of Wellington 24 February

Welcome to Stars of Wellington, where each week we celebrate the varied achievements of our students outside of School. This week, we have a range of news to celebrate across sport, music and academics.

In Music, Milin was awarded the Gold Medal (Junior Category: Violin Grade 1) at the Music Learning Fest#8 21st Century performer in association with Trinity College London. You can watch this delightful performance here. 

In addition, during half term break, Milin had the opportunity to perform Violin on 12th Feb and Harp on 19th Feb at the Opening show of Concert in the Park in association with the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra at Sala Bhirombhakdi, Lumpini Park. What a fantastic experience, Milin, congratulations!

In Academics, Mickey has been awarded the Silver Medal for the Amarican Mathematic Olympaid (AMO) competition. Well done, Mickey!

In Tennis, Jackfruit continues to shine, achieving a highly commendable second place in the Boys U12 category at the recent Lawn Tennis Skills Development South Tournament at Phuket. This tournament is a large event to select the top 16 tennis players with the highest cumulative point to compete in the Masters tournament later this year. Congratulations Jackfruit!

In Equestrian, Elise, continues to enjoy competing, with a 6^th place at the Horse Guard Open 2023(Round2) in the show jumping relay 80cm. Esther, also competed at the same event winning first place in the Show Jumping Open (Pole Jump). Congratulations Elise and Esther!

In Golf, Nava was the first place winner (Class EG) at the SINGHA Junior Golf Central Ranking 2022 – 2023, Royal Hua Hin Golf Course, finishing with an excellent -10 under par – brilliant work, Nava!

Also, in Golf, Pai competed in the Chang Open 2023 at the Panorama golf and country club, finishing as the first runner-up. Congratulations to Pai on your performance!

Finally, in Triathlon, there were two first place finishes for Wellington students with Thomas (12-13, male category) and Harry (10-11, male category) both winning their opening Phoenix Kids Triathlon Series event of the year at ISB. Well done to the both of you!
