With a wealth of experience from his first two Headships, and a background in the UK and internationally, Dr Tod regards himself as first and foremost a committed boarding schoolmaster and is excited to uphold the distinct values of a Wellington education.
He states that ‘I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed as the Founding Master of Wellington College in Pune - indeed the first Wellington College in India!
Wellington College in Pune has the potential to be a quite remarkable venture: joining the wider Wellington family of schools, and therefore leveraging upon the incredible history and ethos of Wellington College in the UK and also the Wellington schools in China & Thailand, provides the opportunity of embarking upon an educational journey of unquestionable vibrancy and quality. A Wellington education, in the UK and internationally, represents the very best of the British educational system and we are rightfully considered a leading global provider.
We are delighted to be introducing the Wellington values to Pune India, with the close links between Wellington College and the UNISON team. In fact, the values of Kindness, Courage, Respect, Integrity and Responsibility will be at the very heart of WCIP’s provision.
A Wellington education embraces true inspiration and aims to be inclusive, engaging with the local / national and international communities. That is an important element of this incredible journey - we are thrilled to now offer all the qualities of a Wellington education within the rich diversity of a truly Indian setting.’
Dr Tod is married to Kirsty, formerly Senior Housemistress at Epsom College and currently a Housemistress at St Mary’s Calne, and together they have one daughter Isla, aged 12.
He is fascinated by all strands of global Politics and, whilst no longer able to compete, he is a passionate rugby union and squash enthusiast.
Wellington College India welcomes you to Pune and is excited to begin the journey for WCIP under your able leadership.
