Awards Whole School


Welcome to this week’s Stars of Wellington, where we celebrate the varied and wonderful achievements of our students as they pursue their interests and passions outside of School.

We start with Emily, one of our rising tennis stars who challenged herself against some of the best players in her age group at the weekend, finishing a highly credible third place in the singles competition at the Tennis 10s Junior Circuit in Bangkok. Furthermore, Emily reached the semi-final in the doubles competition before narrowly missing out on the final. Congratulations Emily on another great effort on the court. Onwards and upwards!

Also in tennis, Jackfruit took part in the PTT - Lawn Tennis Skill Development No. 4 Northern Region tournament in Chiangrai. He won the 1st prize in the under 12 year old (boy) category. Moreover, Jackfruit also reached the final at the PTT - Lawn Tennis Skill Development No. 5 Central Region tournament in Pattaya. Congratulations, Jackfruit on your performances!

In Golf, congratulations goes to Max in Year 11 who won the PJGT Tournament (Boy, 15-18 class) last weekend. Well done, Max!

Another one of our senior players, Tepan, also in Year 11 competed at the Road to US Kids World Championship in Hua Hin, finishing as second runner-up in the Girls 15-18 category. Congratulations, Tepan on your performance!

Making it a hat-trick of golfing excellence, Marker took part in the TGA-SINGHA Junior Golf Ranking 2023-2024, Central Region winning second runner up in the Class B boy category.  Excellent result, Marker, well done on another fine performance!

In Swimming, Porsche won an amazing 8 Golds and 1 Bronze at the Nonthaburi Swimming Championship 2023. What an amazing array of medals, Porsche, congratulations!

In academics, J-Jean competed in the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad 2023, winning Bronze. Furthermore, J-Jean also took part in the Kangaroo Math Thailand event, also receiving another bronze award. Around 6 million students from 80 countries were involved. Super work J-Jean, congratulations on your performances!

In Music, Garm in Year 8 won a raft of prizes and awards recently as part of his superb drumming performances. Garm has picked up an amazing 9(!) certificates from competitions around the world including the UK, Hong Kong, Thailand and Canada. Congratulations, Garm, this is incredible! As with all our musicians, we look forward to watching Garm perform at various events which will be coming up at School during the academic year. 

We also bring you news of Alice’s achievements in her music performances and competitions during the summer break.

At the International Young Musicians Music Competition - Wein 2023 (IYMMC Wein) final round, which was held at Palais Ehrbar Vienna, Austria, Alice won two prizes :

- Piano: 1st Prize

- Violin: 3rd Prize

For the whole week after the competition, Alice took the opportunity to attend both group and private masterclasses with Professor Luigi Manta for Piano, and Professor Konstaintin Weitz for the violin. This was a truly unique experience which enabled Alice to gain a range of insights and learning in both instruments.

Vienna sounds incredibly exciting, Alice – what an amazing experience and achievements, well done!

Also in Music, Chris took part in the Bangkok Youth Singing Competition, finishing first in her category. Furthermore, she has the wonderful opportunity to perform in with the Bangkok Charity Orchestra at Aksra Theatre on 29 September. Amazing, Chris, what a great result for you and more to come! Superb!
